Soba Noodles Vegetables

Why am I not losing more weight?
I want to lose about 20 kgs. I have completely changed my diet and for the past month, I’ve been eating a fat-free yogurt and a piece of fruit for breakfast, soba noodles in broth for lunch and grilled chicken breast or fish and half a cup of brown rice or vegetables for dinner and another piece of fruit as a snack. So far I’ve lost…only 4lbs!
I feel like I should have lost a little more given that I’m eating small portions of fresh, unprocessed food. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?
You are correct. The first month of a restricted diet like this should have dropped a lot more weight. Especially if you were eating more processed food before as that kind of food holds water in your body and you should have lost more than 4lb’s in water alone.
Firstly lose the yogurt (it may be fat free but the makers will have packed it full of sugar to keep it tasting nice after removing the fat).
I would also change the noodles at lunch to a raw vege salad mixed with tuna.
Most importantly, do some form of daily exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. If you diet quite strictly your body drops into self preservation mode (stops you losing weight) by slowing your metabolism down. Your immune system drops down a peg, hair grows slower, heart beats slower, core body temp drops slightly etc. You wouldnt even notice this happening but the point is to significantly reduce your need for calories therefore you dont drop the weight. By daily exercise you stimulate your metabolism and it wont slow down.
The end result is you will start to drop the weight a lot more effectively and by doing gentle daily exercise you will be healthier (+ by exercising you will burn more calories which will also help, though contrary to what most people think, it is the metabolic benefits that are most beneficial for weight loss)
