How many calories are in a bowl of Hakata Ramen at LA’s Shin-Sen-Gumi restaurants?
By my best estimation, the noodles are about 200 calories (you get ~1.5 cups of noodles in a regular bowl), and the broth, being pork-based, is about 50 calories/cup (similar to a ham stock). You get about 6 cups of broth in the ramen, so that gives us 500 calories so far. SSG also let’s you choose how much oil your soup has. Since oil is 100 calories a tbsp, and “light oil” seems to be about 2 tablespoons, that means one “regular” cup of SSG ramen with light oil is about 700 calories (not including the 2 pieces of chashu pork that come with every bowl, which adds about 200 calories).
